Went over to Swatow Seafood Restaurant at Toa Payoh for dim sum lunch after my appointment. It’s a really traditional Teochew style restaurant and although I find the pricing abit steep, the food tasted surprisingly very good! The must order is definitely the Liu Sha Bao, followed by the Char Siew Su. It is super super crispy and has abit of the burnt taste (in a nice way). The Har Kow & Century Egg Porridge tasted equally good. I’m thinking of bringing my parents here soon. Don’t know is it because it’s been too long since I last had dim sum or the standard is really good. lol
After lunch, we headed to Shrove Tuesday which is located at Blk 94 Toa Payoh Lorong 4. A humble cozy cafe below HDB again. I would prefer them to Creamier due to the ambience and perhaps coz it’s less crowded here, I can really chill here and have long chit chat sessions. The staff also kindly offered to refill my tea after I emptied the pot which is a really nice gesture of her.

We ordered the rainbow cake, ice cafe latte & peach honeycomb tea. The rainbow cake despite looking really pastel and pretty, tasted really normal. Like sponge cake with lots of coloring.. Where can I find rainbow cake that looks nice & tastes nice? D:

Life has been alright I guess.. the year 2014 is slipping through. It is going to be end of August really soon. The Mooncake Festival is coming and then it will be Christmas and New year back to back. Sometimes I feel that it’s too fast, time is not enough.
